The Knowledge Consortium of Gujarat (KCG) is an initiative of the Education Department, Government of Gujarat, established with the objective of enhancing the quality of higher education across the state through academic reforms, innovation, accreditation, ranking, and capacity-building initiatives. As part of its quality assurance measures, KCG introduced the Gujarat State Institutional Rating Framework (GSIRF) to promote excellence and healthy competition among higher educational institutions in Gujarat.
GSIRF evaluates colleges and universities on various parameters such as teaching-learning processes, research, innovation, infrastructure, student support, governance, and overall institutional performance. Participation in GSIRF enables institutions to assess their strengths, identify areas for improvement, and align themselves with national and global standards of higher education. The rating and star accreditation awarded under GSIRF serve as an important benchmark of institutional quality and contribute significantly towards enhancing academic reputation, stakeholder confidence, and continuous quality assurance initiatives undertaken by the IQAC.
